To track downloads of your customers, it is convenient to have this module to see the number of downloads and also the different expiration dates. In case of problems you can change the expiration dates of download (based on the order details).
For customers, it will be easier to download the file because a section "my downloads" will be available in his account, which would make it much easier. This approach will avoid you explain to your client, the process to download a file from the invoice.
